  1. lol @ the last sentence: ‘iss information ka maqsad nek hai’.

  2. Really, I do not have proper words to express my anger, when I read the articles of this Jocker. He is at the same time an educator of our society, a religious scholar , political leader and so on. The sommer saults of these so-called journalists like him now and then have made our public sick of them. He is always talking about modern technology, education, economic development and logic. But, to find some modus-operandi to praise his financers, he is misleading general public to use dates to cure the problems of Heart. I cannot understand the hypocracy of these journalists, saying one thing and doing other. These are the real BANARASI THUGS, who are playing with the lives of the poor Pakistanis.Unfortunately, we do not have any mechanizm to stop them from misguiding the People of Pakistan.

  3. well world should stop research on ischemic heart disease…and should focus on ajwa dates for treatment of the disease,,,and we should recommend the name of mr. javed ch. aslam baig and malik riaz for nobel prize….also we should immediatly terminate dr. azhar from punjab institute of cardiology…javed ch. should be made chief cardiologist immediatly…similarly AFIC PINDI SHOULD BE GIVEN to aslam baig …and malik riaz can be made incharge of NICVD karachi…lolz:)

  5. SC orders release of developer By Nasir Iqbal Wednesday, 28 Oct, 2009 http://news.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/the-newspaper/national/sc-orders-release-of-developer-809

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the release of Malik Tabarak Hussain Bari after it was informed that he had been framed in a fake case and arrested by the Karachi police at the behest of his rival Malik Riaz Hussain, a real estate tycoon. A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja and Justice Ghulam Rabbani that had taken the case on suo motu directed the release of Mr Bari against a surety bond of Rs500,000. The Karachi police had picked up Mr Bari from Islamabad allegedly without fulfilling legal requirements because he was reportedly planning to bring hundreds of victims of Malik Riaz’s highhandedness to the apex court on October 26.

But before it could happen, about a dozen of Frontier Constabulary and police personnel raided the house of Mr Bari at Sector E-7 on October 24 and after detaining him at the FC headquarters for some time shifted him to Karachi where a fake case was registered against him. SSP investigations Karachi Niaz Ahmed Khoso and the investigation officer of Sohrab Goth police Aneel Ali Khushk had informed the court that Mr Bari was wanted to the Karachi police in a case registered against him on October 16. The court ordered the Kohsar police to keep Mr Bari till he furnishes the surety bond. In the meanwhile, Mr Bari can lodge a complaint against the injustice done to him by the police, if he so desired. The court also expressed displeasure over the Karachi police’s picking up of the accused from Islamabad without any legal requirements. The court held the FIR as concocted, designed to implicate the accused. Mr Bari told the court that his 14-year-old son was also maltreated by the police during the raid at his hose. Besides, one of the policemen also forcibly took away his Rolex watch, he alleged.

Advocate Sardar Asmatullah Khan, representing Ms Anjum Riaz, the wife of Mr Bari, informed the court that the chief executive of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz was behind the entire episode. He alleged that Malik Riaz had forcibly acquired thousands of kanals from poor people in the areas of Rawat and Sihala at throwaway prices. The police are also in league with Malik Riaz in registering criminal cases against at least 20 people with the Rawat, Sihala, Saddar Bairooni and Civil Lines police for resisting the alleged grabbing of their lands, he added. Sardar Asmatullah said Mr Bari had resisted the sale of a piece of land as a result of which Malik Riaz got fake cases registered against him. He said Malik Riaz recently obtained a decree of over 7,000 kanals located on Murree Expressway in his name from a civil judge in Islamabad and sold the land to the Defence Housing Authority at Rs3 billion. The court also directed Mr Bari to approach the sessions judge of Islamabad if he had any grievances as the judge was conducting an inquiry into the whole episode.

  6. SC orders police to arrest Bahria Town’s Malik Riaz for murder

    * Court told Malik Riaz coerces people into selling their land

    Daily Times Monitor

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed police to lodge an FIR and arrest Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain, for the murder of a security guard.

A three-member bench consisting of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Ghulam Rabbani issued the orders while conducting suo moto action on reports of the murder of security guard Fiaz Ahmed, who was killed nearly a year ago.

The Sihala police station house officer told the bench that seven people had been arrested for the guard’s murder, but all had been released on bail. However, some people present at the hearing told the court that Malik Riaz coerced them into selling him their land, alleging that those that refused would be harassed with help from local police. The court was also informed that Malik Tabarik Hussain, who was also accused of Fiaz’s murder, was handed over to Sohrab Goth police in Karachi. The court also ordered the Islamabad district and sessions judge to submit a detailed report by November 26, and directed the Sindh inspector general to present Tabarik Hussain in court today (Tuesday).

Staff Report adds: The court directed a Sihala police official to record the statement of Shamraiza Bibi, Fiaz’s widow, in the courtroom and lodge an FIR against Malik Riaz for the murder of her husband. In her statement, she said that Malik Riaz was responsible for the murder of her husband. During the course of hearing, two citizens – Raja Qayyum and Habibullah – appeared before the bench and maintained that they were victimised by Malik Riaz, who had them beaten up by police because they would not sell Riaz their properties. They alleged that SHO Idrees Rathore and DSP Malik Mumtaz had kept them locked up for three months, forcing them to sell their properties to the Bahria Town chairman. http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2009\10\27\story_27-10-2009_pg1_9

  7. But then we have Mr Kamran Khan on his Geo programme, Aaj Kamran Khan Ke Saath, deciding to embrace both positions. His programme tonight (December 2) was a marvel of double-speak and chutzpah. But before I come to tonight’s programme, let me also run you through the recent history of this programme since the current Wikileaks saga broke, since I have been following and been amazed by it every day. Monday, November 29: On the day when ‘Cablegate’ was the top story in the entire world, the first cables having been released late the night before (according to Pakistan Time), guess how much coverage was given to them in Aaj Kamran Khan Ke Saath. None. Zero. Zilch. Cipher. Instead, Kamran Khan devoted the entire programme to an extended promotional interview of Malik Riaz, the controversial billionaire owner of Bahria Town construction, said also to have recently invested heavily in ARY. The only explanation I could come up with this remarkable detour was that either Khan now had a home in Bahria Town or that Riaz has now invested in Geo as well. 8. No power outages in Rawalpindi’s Bahria Town MUSHTAQ GHUMMAN ISLAMABAD (April 16 2010): While the entire country, from Khyber to Karachi, is crying owing to severe power crisis, Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, is the only privileged private housing scheme, which has been given exemption from load-shedding. According to the load-shedding schedules being implemented with full force, the citizens of Islamabad are facing a four-hour announced load-shedding, whereas Rawalpindi is experiencing an 8-hour announced load-shedding, besides numerous unannounced outages. In Islamabad, Red Zone comprising President House, Prime Minister House, Secretariat and diplomatic enclave are exempted from load-shedding due to security reasons. It is surprising that on one hand the people of far-flung areas are tasting load shedding up to 18 hours daily, but on the other an area (Bahria Town) which must be treated as at par with Rawalpindi zone, is enjoying 24-hour uninterrupted electricity whereas the adjacent towns and housing schemes are faced outages up to 8 hours, commented one citizen of Islamabad, Zafar Iqbal.

“It is unfair that the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are facing prolong unannounced load shedding,” he added. Islamabad-based steel furnaces have already announced to lay off all its labour because of non-availability of power. Bahria Town has established its own grid station to supply power to its residents on a 24-hour basis, but it gets supply from the system of Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco). Spokesmen for Pepco and Bahria Town could not be reached for their comments. An official source told Business Recorder that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is also investigating tax leakage in private housing schemes/ societies, which procure electricity in bulk from public sector generation companies and supply to their consumers on self billing collection basis. An exercise is underway in the FRB to check the record of all the private housing schemes or societies to estimate the impact of tax leakage on revenue collection and future measures to stop this practice. http://www.brecorder.com/index3.php?id=1045922&currPageNo=2&query=&search=&term=&supDate=

  9. Who compelled Wapda to alter pact with Bahria Town? MUSHTAQ GHUMMAN http://www.brecorder.com/index3.php?id=1050989&currPageNo=1&query=&search=&term=&supDate= ISLAMABAD (April 30 2010): Who compelled the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) during Musharraf regime to alter power supply agreement with Bahria Town, the only private sector housing scheme which is enjoying exemption from loadshedding? The agreement signed by Bahria Town and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on January 25, 2002, reveals that both parties agreed that (i) The grid station after completion will be handed over to Wapda/Iesco to maintenance, operation and other activities/extension, etc. Operation and maintenance after the construction of grid station will be done by Wapda/Iesco; (ii) after completion work, the sponsor will offer the same for final inspection by the CE design NTDC, Wapda through letter/completion report. Consequent to CE Design NTDC, Wapda letter of approval, final handing/taking over will take place at which date the grid station will be commissioned/energised and will become Wapda/Iesco property. The sponsors have applied for 10MW load with the commitment they will not ask for any load extension for next 10 years. However, after 10 years if they wish to extend the load further, they will be bound to comply with the then prevalent policy of Wapda/Iesco before any such extension is made.

In the end of the agreement, it was agreed that if the sponsor is found acting in contravention of the agreement or any of his dues adjusted or liable to be adjusted prejudicial to any of the clauses contained herein or any other instructions issued from time to time. Iesco reserves the right to revoke this agreement and is also authorised to impose penalty as deemed fit. However, on July 24, 2004 top brass of Wapda altered the agreement for ‘ personal gains’ just after two years of its execution. Official document reveals that the authority decided to condone a couple of conditions and approved the connection at tariff C-3 in respect of Bahria Town Rawalpindi/Islamabad after energisation of grid station being constructed by Bahria Town management. The condition which were condoned were: (11.1) the ownership of grid station will remain with Iesco/Wapda; (11.2). The Iesco/Wapda will have the right to utilise the grid station for any future extension for providing new connections and; (12) Bahria Town management will construct grid station in accordance with the design already handed over to Bahria Town by Wapda and subsequently will maintain and operate. It is interesting to note that the Ministry of Water and Power is in the dark with regard to Bahria Town continued power facility. The spokesmen of both the Wapda and Bahria Town could not be reached for comments.
