What can Pakistan’s Shias do to save themselves from further killings? – by Laibaah

Picture Source: Attack on a Shia funeral in D.I. Khan

Who is being killed: Shia Muslims. Shia Muslims are being killed only because of their faith identity (i.e., Shia sect). Shias of all ethnic groups across Pakistan (including Punjabi, Pashtoon, Sindhi, Baloch, Muhajir, Hazara, Gilgiti, Balti etc) are being equally targeted. Contrary to what some ethnic groups claim (e.g. some Hazara nationalist leaders in Quetta who due to

Another Taseer target killed in Karachi

by admin

Another Taseer was target killed in Karachi today, 30 January 2012.

Taseer Abbas Zaidi, 25, was target killed in Incholi Society (Federal B Area) by the Jihadi-sectarian militants of ASWJ-SSP who are sponsored by Pakistan army.

While millions of Pakistanis mourned the tragic murder of Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer by a brainwashed tool of the Deep State, who will mourn the tragic murder of an innocent Shia youth?

What was Taseer Zaidi’s only crime? He belonged to Shia sect of Islam.

Ever since the ISI-sponsored Difa-e-Pakistan Council has

Shia Muslims across the world are feeling increasingly nervous and lonely – The Economist

There is only a tiny proportion of Shia Muslims in the Gaza Strip, the slice of Palestine run by Hamas, a branch of the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood, which recently emerged as a majority party in Egypt’s parliament. Even so, Hamas security men wielding clubs stormed a private gathering of some 25 Shias held to mark the end of the 40-day mourning period for Imam Hussein’s death (Arbaeen or Chehlum), sending several to hospital. This was despite Iran’s being a notable patron of Gaza’s Islamist rulers (Hamas).

Egypt’s small Shia community has also felt a chill Sunni wind. On Ashura, Egyptian police forced hundreds of Shias

Saudi winter in the Middle East and Hamas militants’ attack on Shia Muslims in Gaza

EVERY year Shia Muslims commemorate the loss of Hussein, a grandson and would-be heir to the Prophet Muhammad who was murdered in 680AD. They mark both his martyrdom on Ashura, the tenth day of the Muslim month of Muharram, and the end of the traditional mourning period 40 days later.

Modern tragedy has intruded on these rites with dismal regularity in recent times, as

We condemn sectarian Jiyalas’ hate speech against Ahmadiyya Muslims – by Saira Ahmad

by admin

Not unlike other political parties, some intolerant and sectarian minded people are also found in Pakistan Peoples Party. One such person is Babar Awan, VP of PPP, who is notorious for his hate speech against Ahmadi Muslims.

Babar Awan has some flatterers on Twitter and facebook, some of whom are themselves Ahmadi phobes. For example, one sectarian beast who claims to be a PPP supporter is Ahmad Nadeem Gehla who is extremely disliked by everyone including PPP workers because of his abusive, intolerant and sectarian

Haqqani should apologize: A PPP Jiyala’s view

by admin

HH should apologize for the mess he has created thru memogate.

Adapted from: Haqqani must resign

A few things come to mind when observing the fallout of Mansoor Ijaz ratting out Hussain Haqqani on the Memo. The first is that PPP’s media strategy or lack therof has reached a crisis point and secondly that few tears are being shed by genuine PPP workers, activists and leaders at the resignation of Hussain Haqqani.

Allow me to elaborate:

Mr. Haqqani has a tendency to appropriate the credit that was never really his to begin with. Since the beginning,

This barbaric incident was completely ignored or misrepresented in Pakistan’s mainstream media.

Husain Haqqani Network distributes women’s wrestling video featuring Mansoor Ijaz

by admin

It is interesting to see that the usual suspects (urban elites and their middle-class flatterers, members of the Namoos-e-Haqqani Network) are currently busy in distributing and publicizing a cheap video clip of women’s wrestling featuring Mansoor Ijaz, one of the two main characters involved in the memo case. The timing and intent of this video are as important as are the issues of the lifestyle liberals’ network and selective morality.

The video was ‘leaked’ on Pakistan’s social media via Shahid Saeed, a junior member of the Namoos-e-Husain-Haqqani network (Honour of Husain Haqqani Network) who is known for his Zardari-phobia, urban elites-philia and Iftikhar Chaudhry apologia. He is the same person who blamed the prosecution for the release of the SSP terrorist Malik Ishaq by the ISI-backed judiciary.

Shahid Saeed claims that he received this video via ‘somebody’. Is that

Misappropriating Imam Hussain for Husain Haqqani

If you are familiar with the recent work of left-of-centre reporters and columnists, you will know two things about them: that they consider Babar Awan a fake pipliya who distributed sweets after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged and that Husain Haqqani is the only remaining bastion of liberalism.

Why the double standards? After all Haqqani has also taken a slow journey to the

What do Shia Muslims think about Imran Khan? – by Laibaah

A Shia Muslim scholar Allama Jawad Naqvi exposes the Saudi-ISI plan to revive a repackaged version of General Zia-ul-Haq Group (Religio-political fascists) in Pakistan

In this post, we present a thought provoking analysis by a Shia scholar on the re-emergence of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with the help of Pakistan army (ISI in particular) and its Jihadi-sectarian affiliates (e.g., Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (aka Lashkar-e-Jhangvi), Jamaat-ud-Dawa (aka Lashkar-e-Taiba), Jamaat-e-Islami etc. Given that the speaker in this video (Allama Jawad Naqvi) offers an analysis based on his particular ideological and political point of view, we do not necessarily agree with all of his arguments, however, given
