While the majority of Pakistan’s political parties remain directly or indirectly aligned or allied with right-wing and radical Islamist parties (e.g., PML-N’s alliance with the Sipah-e-Sahaba and Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith, PTI’s alliance with the Jamaat-e-Islami, Sipah-e-Sahaba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa), and while these religio-political parties remain completely silent on Shia genocide in Pakistan or misrepresent it, there are at least some leaders of the PPP who have spoken in boldest and clearest terms against the Shia genocide (notwithstanding Sharmeela Farooqi and Rehman Malik’s shameless and ongoing apologia for Pakistan army and ISI).
This is despite the fact that the PPP itself is subject to ongoing target killing by the Jihadi-sectarian proxies of the Deep State.
The following is an extract from the PPP’s election manifesto (2008):
Islam teaches brotherhood, love and peace. Our Faith places a responsibility on each citizen to reach out in a spirit of accommodation and tolerance to all religions and sects and to treat people of all faiths with respect, enabling them to enjoy religious freedom and equality before the law. The PPP aims at creating a just and equitable society with equal opportunity for all its citizens. Women, Minorities and under-privileged will be provided equality of opportunity. As the Party that introduced a Ministry for Human Rights, the PPP will respect the life, liberty, property, livelihood and right to freedom of association, expression and movement of every citizen. It will honour the International Human Rights Declaration in both letter and spirit. The PPP will protect the rights in particular of the
weak and oppressed, the discriminated and the downtrodden. The statutes that discriminate against religious
Minorities, and are sources of communal disharmony, will be reviewed. (Extract from Pakistan Peoples Party Manifesto 2008).
Here are some examples of how at least some PPP leaders have highlighted and condemned the ongoing Shia target killings at various forums including the media, parliament and elsewhere.

Zardari and Bhuttos are moderate Sunni Muslims
Contrary to the carefully crafted and propagated urban legend (misleading propaganda by the Jihadi-sectarian agents and the PPP-phobes), PPP’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is not a Shia Muslim. There is nothing wrong if he was a Shia. However, even if he were, he would be probably as irrelevant as any Muslim president in India because Pakistani State continues to be dominated and ruled by Saudi-influenced pro-Wahhabi, pro-Deobandi military establishment.
Not unlike his wife (Benazir Bhutto) and father in law (Zulfikar Ali Bhutto), Zardari is a moderate Sunni Muslim who holds egalitarian and inclusive views towards all Islamic sects and non-Muslim communities. For example, in the following pictures, he is clearly seen offering prayers according to Sunni sect, but also pays homage at the shrine of the granddaughter of the Propeht (s.a.w.w.) Hazrat Zainab (s.a.), which is consistent with the traditions of Sunni (not Wahhabi or Takfiri) and Shia Muslims.
In one of his recent tweets, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari too frankly admitted that he was a sincere Muslim but at the same time he expressed solidarity with Pakistan’ persecuted and target-killed Shia Muslim community.
