PTI Vice President Ejaz Chaudhry attends Difa-e-Pakistan rally in Karachi along with sectarian terrorists

Urgent: Please sign and widely distribute this petition: Ban the Difa-e-Pakistan Council

According to news report, PTI senior vice-president Ejaz Chaudhry spoke at the Difa-e-Pakistan rally in Karachi (12 February 2012) as a formal representative of Imran Khan and PTI, thus reconfirming the widely known fact that PTI is in close partnership with banned Jihadi-sectarian militant organizations. Ejaz Chaudhry congratulated the DPC Jalsa participants on their noble cause (defence of Pakistan against enemies such as India, USA and Iran) and also assured them that Imran Khan himself will participate in the next DPC rally. He claimed that the spirit of change had spread through the country and how Pakistan needs to be “cleansed of America”.

Two key components of the ISI-sponsored Difa-e-Pakistan are: Jamaat-ud-Dawa (aka Lashkar-e-Taiba) and Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (aka Lashkar-e-Jhangvi). The SSP is banned in Pakistan and internationally, while JuD is internationally banned and is also in the Government of Pakistan’s Watch List.

Previously in December 2011, Imran Khan had sent a PTI envoy to the Difa-e-Pakistan rally in Lahore who read Khan’s special message in the rally. The Difa-e-Pakistan rally in Multan (January 2012) was organized by the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, in which Lashkar-e-Jhangvi chief (killer of more than 70 Shias and Barelvis) Malik Ishaq was specially invited to the stage.

Malik Ishaq (LeJ chief) was a special guest at the DPC rally in Multan.

Imran Khan’s vice president Ejaz Chaudhry has previously participated in a number of Jihadi-sectarian corner meetings organized by Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (camouflagerd as Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat), Tahaffuz-e-Khatme-Nabuwat (TKN) and other organizations known for hate speech and violence against Shias, Barelvis and Ahmadis. Some details of his links with the Sipah-e-Sahaba can be found in this post: Imran Khan’s Vice President Ejaz Chaudhry’s links with sectarian terrorists!

Here is the news report about PTI VP’s participation in the Karachi DPC rally on 12 Feb 2012:

Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC)’s Karachi rally, being organised with the support of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), began today (Sunday) at the Quaid’s mausoleum where several religious and political leaders are due to give their speeches, reported Express News. JI chief Munnawar Hassan, Maulana Samiul Haq, Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Hameed Gul, former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Chief of Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ i.e., Sipah-e-Sahaba) Ahmed Ludhianvi, late General Ziaul Haq’s son Ejazul Haq, among many others, will address the rally. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) senior vice-president Ejaz Chaudhry was also seen at the rally. The security cordon around the stage was broken when ASWJ (i.e Sipah-e-Sahaba) workers stormed the ground when Karachi leader Orangzaib Farooqi took the mic to address the rally. The roads leading to the venue were packed with Jamaatud Dawa and ASWJ (Sipah-e-Sahaba / Lashkar-e-Jhangvi) supporters. The DPC has also been promoting the rally online through a newly launched website and the microblogging website Twitter (@Difaepak). (Source: Express Tribune, 12 Feb 2012)

PTI hand in hand with Sipah-e-Sahaba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa? Birds of a feather flock together!

Ejaz Chaudhry is Imran Khan's key contact person to liaise with banned terrorist organizations.

Majority of peaceful Pakistanis including Sunni Barelvis, Shias, Ahmadis, Christians, Hindus and others have rejected the ISI-sponsored Difa-e-Pakistan Council (comprising ISI-sponsored extremist Deobandi and Wahhabi militants), and have also rejected Imran Khan’s ongoing partnership with such groups.

  1. Any Shia or Barelvi who is still supporting Imran Khan or army should be a bit more honest and directly join Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

  4. In December, Kashmiri hardliners, sectarianism-fanning extremists and Taliban-sympathisers were seen holding hands together on stage in Lahore under a banner decorated with images of arms, ammunition and a call for ‘Jihad’.
Since then, the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (Defence of Pakistan Council) movement has gained momentum across Pakistan and their leaders seem unperturbed by serious accusations against them. “Even if we were banned, we cannot just sit around and see this country go up in flames,” says Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi, chief of banned religious group Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), which now operates under a changed name, Ahl-e-Sunnat-Wal-Jamaat (ASWJ).
His group is not alone in urging Pakistanis to rise up. Under the auspices of Maulana Samiul Haq, chairman of Difa-e-Pakistan, over 40 different religious leaders, including those from ASWJ and Jamatud Dawa (JuD), held a meeting on October 12 last year in Lahore.
After this, Difa-e-Pakistan issued a statement saying that the President House is a hostage to the Americans, and appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to force Parliament to abide by article 245 of the Constitution, which states that the country’s military be called in to defend Pakistan.
Party leaders say their agenda is to free Pakistan from American and Indian aggression by putting pressure on the current government. The group also released a 10-point agenda. One of the points is a warning sent to all “anti-Islamic, secular, liberal hypocrites inside Pakistan.” They also announced complete support for those fighting in ‘Occupied Kashmir’ as well as the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Difa-e-Pakistan may be a new name, but its roots lie in the movement started by its current chairman in the wake of attacks on Afghanistan by Western forces.
“At that time our brothers needed our support against the American crusade, so we took a stand for them,” says Maulana Samiul Haq, the 75-year-old former member of the National Assembly. The group he made at the time was known as the Pak-Afghan Council (PAC) but later, this group joined politics by merging into an Islamic alliance known as Mutahidda Majlis-e-Amal, which formed the government in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa under the Musharraf regime.
Samiul Haq currently heads a religious political party, Jamiat Ulema-Islam-S (JUI-S), and also runs a madrassa in Akora Khattak, a religious seminary that was frequented by the Afghan Taliban before 2001, a claim he denies.
Besides him, other prominent members include Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi, both of whom have come under local and international scrutiny due to their perceived connections with terrorist activities.
Jamatwud Dawa, currently on the United Nations list of banned organisations, is accused of involvement in the Mumbai attacks in 2008 that killed at least 166 people. Its chief, Hafiz Saeed, changed the organisation’s name from Jamatud Dawa to Falaah-e-Insaaniyat, but after he was set free by courts due to lack of evidence, his organisation now operates under the JuD banner openly throughout Pakistan.
The group dates back to the early eighties and its spokesperson, Yahya Mujahid, was widely quoted in the press as the spokesperson for Lashkar-e-Taiba in the 1990s, which is a globally banned ‘jihadi’ organisation.
Then there is Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), which, says an intelligence officer who does not wish to be named, was SSP’s militant wing before it broke away. Its head, Malik Ishaq, when released from prison last year, was received by the head of ASWJ, Ahmed Ludhianvi, who stated at that time that Ishaq will continue his struggle peacefully.
But the intelligence official does not believe this. “Different smaller groups linked with LeJ are still involved in sectarian violence across Pakistan,” he says. Ishaq who spent more than a decade in jail, after being accused of involvement in more than 70 killings, was present at the last gathering of Difa-e-Pakistan in Multan. Samiul Haq, though, acknowledges the implications of standing in the same row with those accused of international and local terrorism. “I will keep a check on them and make sure they don’t do anything wrong,” he states.

Even more disturbing is the phenomenon of apparently non-religious elements (do I need to name names?) joining hand with these extremists and becoming apologies to the jihadist agenda of Difa-e-Pakistan Council. I suppose they are ready to jump into bed with mullahs to propogate theirobsessive anti-Americanism.
If anything Pakistan needs to be defended foremost and first against thesevery fanatics who have no qualm in selling out Pakistan to their Arab benefactors in the name of religion. They have done in past and will continue to pursue their supra-national utopia. We need less of religion-inspired policies if Pakistan is to survive as a modern nation-state. Else, we are will continue to edge towards complete Talibanisation.

Wow. Reminds me of the times back in 80s when civilians were being motivated for jihad in Kashmir and Afghanistan, while our army was busy making new defense housing societies, banks, fertilizer companies and even bakeries. I hope people don’t get fooled anymore. I hope people would ask the leadership of Difa-e-Pakistan, that who they think is the real power broker in Pakistan who made all these deals with Americans: certainly not the political/civilian government.

    ………..

Difa-e-Pakistan has organised three large gatherings in Punjab alone. The first was in Lahore, which was organised by Jamatud Dawa (JuD), whose leadership is in charge of coordination and communication between all members of the group.
The movement will now hold a rally in Karachi on Sunday (today), which is being organised with the support of Jamaat-e-Islami. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has also held numerous meetings with the Difa-e-Pakistan leadership.
Other prominent members, who are widely perceived to have links with the intelligence circles in Pakistan, include Ejazul Haq, son of the military dictator who ruled during the Soviet-Afghan war, Sheikh Rasheed, a former federal minister in the last set-up under General Pervez Musharraf, and Hameed Gul, the former head of Pakistan’s premier spy agency, the ISI.
Difa-e-Pakistan does not currently maintain any joint fund and its leadership says all donations are from the public. “The business community, workers of each party, and even Pakistanis living abroad are sending us money, which is enough,” states the head of coordination committee, Yaqub Sheikh.
Independent researchers, however, say that most of the funding for the group comes through rich Arabs. “Not the governments there but the Arab public hate the Americans and have always been involved in using Pakistan as a proxy state,” says Khaled Ahmed, a renowned journalist who has authored several research papers and a book on terrorism and sectarian violence in Pakistan.
Ahmed feels that Difa-e-Pakistan is highlighting foreign policy issues, which the army command has historically dominated in Pakistan. Since the army cannot speak openly on these issues, it will use these non-state actors to communicate,” he adds.
Senior military officials who want to remain anonymous echo his thoughts. “Difa-e-Pakistan wants to tell us and anyone else who wants to use them that they are available. Their presence can be used to bargain with Americans,” a military officer remarked. When the group’s leaders are asked about this, all deny any signal from the armed forces in starting this group but their love for the military is quite evident. “The army is the largest institution of this country, so it holds a lot of importance for us and we are willing to fight for them,” says Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi, head of Ahl-e-Sunnat-wal-Jamaat (ASWJ).
While their statements glorify the Pakistani military and criticise the current political regime, they say they have no direct political stake in the upcoming elections under the banner of Difa-e-Pakistan. “We do not believe the current political system is Islamic and that is why we are not going to contest,” says Yaqub Sheikh from JuD, though he clarifies that his group has always had a political wing.
Analysts feel the union between such ‘Islamists’ can bring no good. “Difa-e-Pakistan has zero political objective but they are taking Pakistan back to the pre-9/11 era when the country had a pro-jihad policy. That will isolate Pakistan internationally,” says Amir Rana, director for the Pakistan Institute of Peace Studies. “We were on the brink of being declared a terrorist state then, and with Difa-e-Pakistan’s reactivation, a similar narrative is being revived,” he warned.

I am watching these jihadi movements since long when they started to grow in the regime of General Ziaul Haq and financed by our beloved Aaqa, the Uncle Sam. Initially it was used to fight in Afghanistan and Nurseries of Jihad were opened in the name of Madersahs in Pakistan. One can remember, the number and presence of Madersahs before and after 1980, one can judge the difference in quality of education they are providing between the two’s. The focus of 1980s and onwards Madersahs (exceptions exclude) is on Jihad and not on the education and message of Islam that’s means ‘peace’. At that time I was of the view that these mushroom nurseries would create a force which would destroy their own society after the so called Jihad. We started to see their results when these Jihadis started to kill Shias in Pakistan in first phase and then soft sunnis (biggest event: Nishtar park). Now I am seeing that many Jihadis groups in KPK are attacking on each other. They have killed their own muslims in thousands in Pakistan in last twenty years and they called them profoundly Muslim, even they don’t know the meaning of Muslim. If one can just read and understand the Surah Fatiha, he may understand the meaning of Islam. The Difa Pakistan is the mob of people who ultimately destroy Pakistan as their mates (politicians) are also doing at present.

Congratulations to PTI walaas for another milestone achieved today in DPC rally, VP PTI addressed in the rally!

  7. KARACHI: The city may be run by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the ground opposite Mazaar-e-Quaid may have hosted three other rallies in quick succession in recent days — but on Sunday the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) erased any signs of the rulers’ presence over the ground or of the rallies that preceded theirs.
Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) – the reincarnation of the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) – dominated the landscape with flags, workers and convoys.
The themes raised during the rally were familiar and predictable — against reopening Nato supply routes, reiterating that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam, freeing the country from US ‘tyranny’ and advocating against India and US policies.
JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch vowed that the DPC parties would besiege parliament on February 20 to protest any decisions regarding reopening Nato supply routes. DPC also announced its plan of arranging a rally in Quetta on February 27.
Despite a considerable presence of volunteers at the venue, they were unable to hold back ASWJ supporters who broke the cordon and rushed forward to the stage when Karachi leader Orangzaib Farooqui began to speak.
The stage filled up relatively early with leaders of the parties that make up the council – a coalition of over 40 religious-political parties – including JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan, former Inter-Services Intelligence chief Hameed Gul, Ejazul Haq, ASWJ head Ahmed Ludhianvi and head of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) Samiul Haq. Cleric Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi was on stage, as well as regional and second-tier leaders of the party. Other speakers at the rally included leaders of Jamaat Ahle Hadith and the Jamhoori Watan Party.
JuD leader Ameer Hamza delivered one of the more inflammatory speeches of the afternoon, as he vowed that one day the rally attendees would make “mincemeat” of India and asked them to “break the legs of any ‘whore’ who went to India to sing and act in films”.
Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi also spoke out against restoring the Nato supply route, calling for an end to ‘thuggery’ in the name of Afghan transit trade.
Other leaders who turned up included Jamia Binoria representatives, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) central vice-president Ejaz Chaudhry.
The attendees cheered and chanted as the afternoon wore on. Mohammad Arif, an ASWJ worker from Korangi told The Express Tribune: “I’ve come with 50 other people.
“I have never seen a rally as big as this. I’m here because I’m in the SSP and because they speak of religion here.”
Another JuD attendee said he had travelled by train from Lahore along with a thousand supporters.
Meanwhile, JUI-Nazriati leader Abdus Sattar called for Pakistan to adopt a system similar to the one introduced by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry claimed that the spirit of change had spread through the country and how Pakistan needs to be “cleansed of America”.
Several speakers paid tribute to Taliban leader Mullah Omar while ASWJ head Ahmed Ludhianvi claimed Pakistan did not need aid from the US and would ask ‘God’ for help.
The chair of the council, Samiul Haq, delivered the final speech at sunset as the crowd began to thin out. Haq said he endorsed all the speeches made and reiterated why the DPC’s creation was so important and took an oath from the attendees to work for its mission.

  8. Imran Khan to attend JuD’s ‘anti-India’ convention

Multan: Banned terror organisation Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan has confirmed his presence at the January 29 Difa-e-Pakistan gathering.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hassan and Awami League chief Sheikh Rasheed would also attend the meeting.

“We only want to show our hatred for the US and India through this gathering…we want them to etch it on their coffins that the nation is united and will defend the nuclear capability of Pakistan at any cost,” The Express Tribune quoted JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, as saying.

The JuD called on the Pakistan Government to defend the country’s nuclear assets because they are key to the country’s survival.

It also pointed out that conspiracies were being hatched against Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal to declare the country a failed or terrorist state.

“We will not let Pakistan slide into the hands of secular forces in Pakistan as they have no attachment or relation with Pakistan,” Saeed said.

He added that Pakistan had come out of its ‘slumber’ and called on the government to abandon “US slavery” policy.

“The drone attacks are proof that the level of loyalty of the government to the US and western powers is incomparable but at the same time, the fury of the people of Pakistan has also become immeasurable and it will sweep away the government,” Saeed added.

  9. ‘Tis the seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness–’tis also the election year in Pakistan, hence a season of rallys and jalsas. This Sunday Karachi witnessed one of the largest, and perhaps the largest rally in its history. This wan’t the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) flexing its muscles–it was the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) which told Pakistan and those who watch Pakistan that the DPC has the strength and the ware-withal to gather colossal crowds. Imran Khan‘s party supported the DPC. If the PTI can claim to tbe next party that is to rule Pakistan based on the strength of its rallys, what can one say about the rally held by the JUI, and now the DPC–both were bigger than the rally held by Mr. Khan.
The PDC is not a political party per se, at least not yet! The DPC is a pressure group led by General Hamid Gul and supported by an array of aprties highly disliked by the West, and abhorred by Bharat. The 80 parties that comprise the DPC include the Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ).
    In Sindhi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czQdU9zosAM&feature=related
    In Urdu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Orneo9qMOnM&feature=related
The DPC has a two point agenda, halt the NATO supplies and stop the srone bombings. Thus the speeches reflected those themes. The DPC reiterated that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam, and wanted to free the country from American ‘tyranny’. Of course is also advocated preventative actions against India and US policies. The DPC is holding rallies in each of the provicial capitals and other urban centers of Pakistan. They announced that a rally will be held in Quetta on February 27.
Gen (retd) Hameed Gul of Tehrik-i-Ittehad Pakistan complained to the Supreme Court that he and his son were jailed for two weeks because they had fought for independence of the judiciary
The Jamat Islami’s (JI) Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch vowed that the DPC parties would besiege parliament on February 20 to protest any decisions regarding reopening Nato supply routes.
Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan asked the COAS why he was silent over drone attacks?
Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Ludhyanvi of Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat said his ancestors had created Pakistan and now his people would save the country
The speeches at the rally would make Delhi and Washington’s blood curl. The parties included the Christians, the Sikhs and the Hindus. Shaikh Rashid has ask the Shia parties to be included. There was JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan, former Inter-Services Intelligence chief Hameed Gul, Ejazul Haq, ASWJ head Ahmed Ludhianvi and head of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) Samiul Haq. Cleric Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi was on stage, as well as regional and second-tier leaders of the party. Other speakers at the rally included leaders of Jamaat Ahle Hadith and the Jamhoori Watan Party.
Historically the Thugs in South Asia were those who got away with highway robbery–literally. The word “Thuggee” means “deceivers,” and this name hints at the methods employed by the cult. Bands of Thugs traveled across South Asia posing as pilgrims, merchants, soldiers, or even royalty, in groups numbering anywhere from a few men to several hundred. We are not sure if Ashrafi’s use of the word had any historical reference, but if he did, was he describing the foreign powers who do everything that the thugee cult did? Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi also spoke out against restoring the Nato supply route, calling for an end to ‘thuggery’ in the name of Afghan transit trade.
Just for laughs, JuD leader Ameer Hamza vowed that one day the rally attendees would make “mincemeat” of India and asked them to “break the legs of any ‘whore’ who went to India to sing and act in films”. Surely that would make headlines in Bharat–while Delhi wrings its hands in the face of Hamza roaming free.
Hafiz Saeed said the usual against Bharat.

Jamia Binoria, or Red Mosque fame spoke. The one man band of the Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed spoke with thunder and supported the DPC. He had earlier claimed in an interview, that he had nothing better to do, so he showed up at the BPC rally in Rawalinding. Well this time, he traveled all the way to Karachi to say a few words at the rally. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) central vice-president Ejaz Chaudhry spoke. PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry claimed that the spirit of change had spread through the country and how Pakistan needs to be “cleansed of America”. Those who oppose the Khan will surely repeat Musharraf’s statements, “Imran Khan is a Taliban without a beard”.
Several speakers paid tribute to Taliban leader Mullah Omar while ASWJ head Ahmed Ludhianvi claimed Pakistan did not need aid from the US and would ask ‘God’ for help.
The chair of the council, Haq,Maulana Samiul Haque of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (S) said the DPC wanted to protect the country from the aggression of the US which– defeated in Afghanistan wanted to take revenge on Pakistan by fomenting unrest in Balochistan. He took an oath from the attendees to work for its mission.

  10. Imran Khan wants Pakistan to be “cleansed of America” and fill it with filthy Jihadi elements of DPC which want to establish 7th century Caliphate and decimate all the non-muslims of this world. Imram Khan seems to be on the right path for 72 virgins.

  11. ejaz chaudhry apologized for attending rally

  12. JuD terrorist chief Hafiz Mohd. Saeed ideology of pakistan is a sad news and he is a beggar, baffoon and gay of pakistan. He should be hanged in open ground. The pakistan once again violating ceasefire in indian border has been a habitual. kashmir is a part of our India. Mohd. Hafiz Saeed is unilsmaic preacher. he preaches only terrorism. ISI, pakistan Taliban are involved to destroy the pakistan in future. He should be killed in open ground. Why the pakistan people should not garland him with slippers. These terrorists has no guts to face a proper person. They are seedless. Now he has been practised to drink cows urine and dung every day in the morning to vanish his sin…vilop. +919620504282, India
